Man charged with assault for striking victim with vehicle

St. Mary’s County Deputy Knott responded to the area of Charles Way in Lexington Park on February 17 for an assault.

The victim alleged suspect John Rhudorf Frances Epp III, 28, of Lexington Park, was seated in his vehicle at which time the victim approached the vehicle to have a conversation.

The suspect suddenly put his vehicle in reverse then turned the steering wheel and accelerated striking the victim.

The vehicle knocked the victim to the ground. The victim was transported to St. Mary’s hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Epp was located at his residence and placed under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with 1st Degree Assault.
