At 7:25 p.m. Nov.19, police responded to the report of an attempted armed robbery at Bank of America Drive-up ATM, 137 E. Chesapeake Beach Rd., Owings.
TFC Huber with the Maryland State Police and road officers with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded. The victim said she was obtaining money from the ATM when a male subject wearing a ski mask approached her.
The suspect asked the woman to drive forward in an attempt to take her money from the ATM. When the victim refused, the suspect brandished a weapon.
The victim complied with the suspect’s orders and then drove her vehicle in reverse to try and scare the suspect. Then the victim’s fiancé chased the suspect who fled the area in a dark colored vehicle.
Police say the suspect is described as a white male approximately 6 feet tall with a medium to thin built.
