PINEY POINT, Md. — A man was flown to a trauma center Saturday morning after a concrete wall collapsed at a house under construction in Piney Point.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2026, to the 16100 block of Piney Point Road near Ball Point Road for a reported technical rescue.
Initial reports indicated a roughly 10-foot-tall concrete wall had collapsed after being struck by a Bobcat, with the wall reportedly falling onto a male worker.
Crews arrived and confirmed the man was not trapped beneath the wall.
The patient was awake and breathing but was reported to be in severe pain. Due to the extent of his injuries, a medevac was requested.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 landed at Piney Point Elementary School and transported the patient to the UMd Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.
