Shortly after noon Feb. 8, Tpr. E. Evans of the Leonardtown barrack responded to Mayflower Drive, Lexington Park, for a reported assault.
The victim advised that she and the accused, Dustin Eugene Sheffler, 32, of Lexington Park, were arguing when he punched her in the face and grabbed her by the throat.
Sheffler was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Assault. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
