At approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday, a white male, wearing a dark colored mask, 18 to 25 years of age, entered the Bank of America in Mechanicsville, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of money northbound in a green colored four door passenger vehicle at a high rate of speed almost causing a collision on Route 5.

The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is investigating the incident.
