On Oct. 12, Deputy S. Ruest responded to Orchid Lane in Mechanicsville for the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed Steveland Morris Penn Stewart, 23 of Lexington Park, got into a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation with the victim.
Stewart punched the victim and attempted to choke her. Stewart was arrested for second-degree assault.
