States Attorney Richard Fritz announces that Francis Matthew Carter of Lexington Park was sentenced on April 8, 2010 to 25 year of incarceration for the attempted second-degree murder of his wife, Delores Kathleen Carter.
In April of 2009, Carter stabbed his wife numerous times at their home located in Lexington Park.
After a trial headed by Assistant States Attorney Christina Taylor, in charge of the States Attorneys Domestic Violence Unit, a jury found the defendant guilty of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
