At 2:25 p.m. April 14, volunteer rescue workers responded to the county landfill at 44837 St. Andrews Church RD, California, after a caller advised that a man fell into a container and was injured, reports Firefighter Ernest Rogers.
Within one minute Squad 7 was out the door and responded with 5 volunteers and began removing the patient from the dumpster so the EMS personnel could treat the victim.
At 2:29 p.m., the chief in command called for a helicopter due to the extent of the man’s injuries.
An ambulance transported the patient to the St Mary’s Airport where Trooper 7 helicopter flew the patient to a trauma center.
