NANJEMOY, Md. — A man was seriously injured Saturday night after being shot while approaching a homeowner on their property in the 8000 block of Bowie Road, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene around 11:38 p.m. on June 28, 2025 following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates the man was unknown to the homeowner and was shot as he approached the homeowner on their property. Authorities have not released any information about a possible motive or whether there was any verbal exchange before the shooting.

Detectives and forensic personnel processed the scene overnight, working alongside the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.

  1. When does “approaching the homeowner” warrant being shot several times? So if my car gets a flat and my cell doesn’t have a signal I can’t knock on the door and ask if they would call a tow truck for me because it would be perfectly ok to just shoot me??? Well lets see how Charles County’s finest handle the situation.
