The St. Maryโ€™s Sheriff released the remaining details Wednesday on the triple shooting that left two men dead Tuesday night in Lexington Park.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., Jonathan Blake Howard, 40, of Upper Marlboro, went to his former home, the home of his estranged wife, Jacqueline Howard, on Rominger Court, and used a .45 caliber handgun to shoot his way through a glass back door.

Lt. John Horne told The Bay Net Jacqueline Howard, 35, tried to flee, and Jonathan Howard fired several shots, hitting her once in the leg. She continued to run out of the house and the shooter turned to the womanโ€™s friend, Mark Allen Peterson, 41, and shot him several times in the chest, killing him.

The shooter fled the house and began to chase his wife down the street. He caught up with her and began assaulting her, including punches to the face.

He then turned and fled down the middle of the street, stopped and fatally shot himself once in the chest, according to Horne.

The coupleโ€™s three children were reportedly in the house at the time of the shooting.
