At 11:15 am on Sunday, Feb. 5, TFC A. Rossignol stopped a vehicle on Route 5 at Indian Bridge Road, Great Mills, because the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.
Upon contact with the passenger, William Vance Straight, 24, of California, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. A probable cause search was conducted.
A search of Mr. Straight revealed a partially burnt marijuana cigarette in his shoe. Mr. Straight was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
No further CDS was found on the driver or in the vehicle. The driver was released from the scene; no charges.
