BALTIMORE — The Maryland State Department of Education held a special meeting today where they voted to require all Maryland public schools’ students and staff to wear masks in the school building.

This regulation is standardizing rules for those returning to school across the state because of the rising prevalence of the COVID-19 delta variant.

Currently, five school systems will have to change their regulations: Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Somerset and Worcester County.

This is a developing story. We will continue to provide additional updates as they become available.
