MECHANICSVILLE, MD – Maryland International Raceway ™ (MDIR) proudly announces the release of the 2019 schedule. This will be an exciting line-up of events and the season will consist of over 100 race days with the season-opener being held on Sunday, March.

All new events added to the 2019 season include: Street Car Takeover, Hot Rod Dragweek, plus a soon to be announced crowd pleasing special event. These events bring different forms of racing giving each type of fan an event to enjoy. This year may be one of the most ambitious schedules in the history of MDIR.

Signature special events in 2019 will include: (two) Swap Meets, (two) HDAY events, Atomizer Racing Injectors Door Wars presented by Winegardner Auto Group, (two) Metro Area Grudge Racers events, (two) Street Warriors – roll racing events, (four) Xtreme Dragbike Association (XDA) events, (three) Custom T’s Grudge events, Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA), (three) War on Wheels events, Truck Mania, Jet Wars, (one) Jones, Dunford, Chisley Memorial, IREV, International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit Sportsman Spectacular, Legends at Budds Creek, Superchargers Showdown, IHRA Summit Series Team Finals, Ford Fever Classic presented by the Mid-Atlantic Ford Dealers, Mopar Eastern Classic, and the Haltech World Cup Finals – Import vs Domestic event.

Street Car Takeover comes to MDIR on August 10th to host their first ever event in Maryland. This No Prep and Roll Racing series, “where street cars rule,” continues to grow each year with an impressive fan and car count at each event. There are 18 classes for this series giving almost every type of racer a class to run in. This is an event to show up early for as the car count will fill up quickly and so will the stands. Many of these racers could also run in our August 9th Speed Unlimited Midnight Madness series in our general classes or the Ray’s Siding No Clock Street Shootout.
Hot Rod Drag Week arrives at MDIR for its fourth stop on the tour for 2019 on Thursday, September 12th. This is the event where street and strip cars are driven 1,000 miles in one week on public roads during a trip that includes four dragstrips and five races in five days. Many of these racers will only have what they are able to tow with a small trailer behind their racecar, what they are able to pack inside the racecar, or in some cases, nothing at all. This can be clothing, parts, tires, tools, and so much more. It is the ultimate test of durability for both man and machine while still trying to be competitive at the strip.

HDAY is back for two dates in the 2019 season. April 5-7 and September 13-15, the largest all Honda and Acura event in the world comes back to MDIR. Do not miss this event as some of the best looking imports will be in the car show while the fastest ones will be on the track. For more information go to https://gohday.com/blog/.
The 11th annual Atomizer Racing Injectors Door Wars presented by Winegardner Auto Group returns to MDIR April 12-14. This event has become our signature Outlaw event. It will once again feature the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA) on the 1/4 mile with speeds over 250+ MPH! The event also includes Outlaw 10.5, 1320 Fabrications Warrior Outlaws, the all new Ray’s Siding No Clock Street Vs the DMV, and the full Speed Unlimited ET Series program. This will be one of our “must attend” events this season.

In motorcycle action, MDIR will host four action-packed weekends in 2019. Miller Brother Productions returns with the Xtreme Dragbike Association (XDA) and each of these events will draw thousands of motorcycle racers and fans. XDA will feature 1/4 mile six-second, 220 mph Pro Street bikes along with sportsman motorcycle racers. You can find out more information at www.XDAracing.com.

The Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) is back at MDIR next year May 30-June 1 and will feature Pro Nitrous, Pro Boost, Extreme Pro Stock, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Bracket Bash and Junior Dragster. PDRA is home of the fastest 1/8-mile doorslammers on the planet – so be sure not to miss all the action. You can find out more about the PDRA at www.pdra660.com.

The 2019 edition of the Superchargers Showdown could be the best one yet. October 4-5, we have the return of the NEOPMA 1/4 mile 250+ MPH Pro Mods, the 1320 Fabrication Warrior Outlaws and Bunny and the Boys Funny Car. There may also be a special thrill show added to this event. More details to come.

As with  every season, we always save the best for last. The 24th annual Haltech World Cup Finals presented by Wiseco will feature Import vs Domestic drag racing and will be bigger than ever. This Five-Day event will be held on October 30-November 3 and draws cars from NMCA, NMRA, LSX Shootouts, Buick GN Shootouts, SSCSO, IREV, IFO, Pan-American Nationals, TX2K, and every other major event and series. WCF has over 350 heads-up racers from over 10 different countries battling it out on the ¼-mile for over $110,000 in cash purse and bragging rights in front of nearly 40,000 fans. Adding to that excitement is the famous bikini contest, a huge vendor midway, DJ’s and more. Records will fall, legends will be made, and it all happens at one place!
