Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls Now Open In Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. — Snow was falling hard outside Thursday afternoon, but inside Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Waldorf, the restaurant was full of customers lining up for lobster rolls and warm seafood dishes.

The BayNet stopped by the new location one day after its grand opening, and despite the winter weather, the dining room was packed with guests escaping the cold while trying the restaurant’s New England-style menu. Staff moved quickly behind the counter as orders were called out and trays of food headed to nearly every table.

Co-owner Ronnie Horne spent time greeting customers and chatting with guests throughout the afternoon while helping serve fresh food to the crowd. Horne shared that he and his wife opened the Waldorf location together. The couple lives locally in Charles County, and he said this is his first restaurant.

The restaurant officially opened Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Waldorf Shopping Center, 3722 Robert S. Crain Highway, Unit 116. The location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls specializes in traditional New England-style seafood, centered around its lobster rolls. Customers can choose between the Classic Maine lobster roll, served chilled with mayonnaise, or the Connecticut-style roll, served warm with butter.

Other menu items include lobster salad rolls, lobster BLT rolls, crab and shrimp rolls, New England clam chowder, lobster bisque, salads and lobster mac and cheese.

To mark the opening, guests can enter to win free lobster rolls for a year — one each week — through May 2.

Customers who mention “I LOVE LOBSTER” at checkout through March 25 will also receive a free side or fountain drink with the purchase of any roll.

Maryland-Based Brand

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls was founded in Annapolis in 2014 by Dan Beck, a former restaurant seafood buyer who worked with Maine lobstermen to better understand sourcing and quality lobster. The company began franchising locations in 2016 and has since grown to more than 30 locations across the United States, with international expansion now underway, including locations operating in Italy.
