A large house fire in Huntingtown prompted a major response from multiple fire companies overnight. According to the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, units responded to the 4200 block of Weeping Willow Lane for a reported chimney fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire showing from the attic.

Engine 21 arrived and secured a water supply, backing up Engine 6 on the fire floor. Squad 2 completed searches throughout the home and assisted with ventilation for the engine companies. Chief 2A took command of the operation.

Photos from the scene show flames engulfing the roof as crews worked to contain the fire. No injuries have been reported at this time, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
