Early Sunday afternoon, Nov. 11, fire and EMS units from Bay District, Valley Lee, Naval Air Station Patuxent River and the Lexington Park Rescue Squad were dispatched to an apartment fire at Lexwood Apartments.
The first arriving fire units found smoke coming from an upstairs window, however they reported the mattress fire was out.
The cause of the fire is unknown at press time.
