At 1:10 a.m. May 7, Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to a residence in the 3200 block of Ryon Court in Waldorf for the report of a fight. While en route, officers observed a vehicle leaving the area and stopped it.
Their investigation revealed the occupants of the car had forced entry into the residence and assaulted James Anthony Jackson, 25. They chased Jackson from the home into the woods, where they continued to assault him before fleeing in the vehicle stopped by officers.
The accused were identified as Waldorf residents Chris Matthew Washington, 29, Tyian Rene Thomas, 23, Phillip Quincey Lewis, 25, and Calvin Cornelius Hall, Jr., 24, and Brandywine resident John Maurice Neale, Jr., 18.
They were charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault and were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending appearances before a district court commissioner. Hall was also served five outstanding warrants for violation of probation, resisting arrest, drug possession and first-degree burglary charges.
During the investigation, officers discovered Jackson had forced entry into a residence in the 12100 block of Ell Lane in Waldorf shortly after midnight May 7 and assaulted Hall. Jackson was then also arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. He was being held at the Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
