Leonardtown, MD – On Nov. 1, Breton Bay Golf and Country Club and the Breton Bay Men’s Golf Association hosted the Second annual Tournament for Veterans. Numerous local businesses, along with members from Breton Bay Golf and Country club contributed to the tournament.

The event had 121 participants of which 16 were veterans from all over Maryland. Proceeds from the tournament were donated to the St. Mary’s County Vacations for Vets.

To date, this program has hosted over 200 recovering service members and 400 of their family members here in Southern Maryland for weekend retreats. These weekend retreats allow the guests a chance to relax with their families in a quiet country setting.

Activities are planned that everyone can participate in, no matter what their disability is. Transportation, entertainment, activities, meals and lodging are provided free of charge to our guests.

This wonderful program would not be able to provide this service without the generosity of the community.

Billy Goddard, tournament chairman and Bob Arnold, head golf professional at Breton Bay Golf and Country Club presented Vacations for Vets Board of Directors President Connie Pettington with a check for $5,000.
