As of 3:00 p.m. today, the National Weather Service advised that St. Mary’s County may experience minor coastal flooding late tonight and early Friday morning.
Per the Weather Service, a Southeasterly flow will develop ahead of a strong cold front this evening coincident with a full moon. This will allow the tidal Potomac River and Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay to rise 2 to 3 feet above astronomical predictions.
