NEW BRITAIN CT. โ€” Blue Crabs Catcher Gustavo Molina registered six RBIs which is a season high for a Blue Crabs hitter as Southern Maryland picked up the victory in game two by the final of 8-2.

In the top of the fourth, Southern Maryland scored three runs on the three-run shot by Molina.ย  In the top of the fifth, Gary Brown would score on the sacrifice fly off the bat of Eric Garcia to make it 4-0 Southern Maryland.

New Britain attempted to chip away with a run scored in the bottom of the sixth and seventh on the RBI single by Craig Maddox and Michael Crouse fielderโ€™s choice to cut the Blue Crabs lead in half.

Southern Maryland put the game away, pushing four runs across in the top of the 8th.ย  Bryant Nelson drove in a run with an RBI single.ย  A couple of batters later with two runners on, Gustavo Molina ripped a three-run homer over the wall in left to put the game out of reach.

RHP Daryl Thompson picked up the win, going seven innings, and allowing just two runs and striking out six.ย  Meanwhile, Bryant Nelson registered two hits on the night and is now three hits away from the most hits in Atlantic League history.

Southern Maryland will play New Britain in game three of the series tomorrow night.ย  The first pitch is set for 6:35 P.M.
