Southern Maryland law enforcement agencies report the follow marijuana arrests for March 1-20:

ย On Wednesday, March 19, at 11:41 am, Travares Lavelle Brown, 25, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC E. Evans for possession of Marijuana.ย  Brown was operating a white Chevrolet Caprice on Route 235, south of Route 246 in Lexington Park when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit.ย  During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Brown and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.ย  Brown was found to be in possession of a Marijuana cigarette.ย  He was transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ย On Tuesday, March 18, at 1:11 am, Jon Christopher Powless, 25, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana.ย  Powless was operating a teal Honda Civic when he was stopped at Old Village Road and Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville for failing to drive right of center.ย  During the course of the traffic stop, Powless was found to be in possession of Tupperware container with a small quantity of Marijuana and a metal CDS smoking device containing Marijuana residue.ย  Powless was taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention and held pending a bond review.

ย On Monday, March 17, at 12:50 pm, William Mervin Zumbrum, Jr., 57, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana, a CDS smoking device with Marijuana residue and CDS paraphernalia.ย  Zumbrum was operating a silver Mercury Grand Marquis south bound Route 235, north of Route 245 in Hollywood when he was stopped for an equipment violation.ย  During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Zumbrum and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.ย  Zumbrum was found to be in possession of Marijuana, a CDS smoking device with Marijuana residue and CDS paraphernalia.ย  He was transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ย On March 17, at approximately 10:50 pm, Deputy James Stone stopped a motor vehicle driven by Dovon Domomique Gray, 20 of Upper Marlboro, Maryland for an equipment violation.ย  When Deputy Stone contactedย  Gray he could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle.ย  Deputy Stone conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle which resulted in the recovery of a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.ย  The probable cause search also resulted in the discovery of trace amounts of suspected marijuana on the front passenger floor board of the vehicle.ย  Dovon Gray and front passenger, Jeremy Keshane Bradshaw, Sr. 19 of Landover, Maryland were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance โ€“ marijuana.

ย On Sunday, March 16, at 5:47 pm, Shawn Patrick Douglas, 31 of Waldorf was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana.ย  Douglas was operating black Honda Civic on south bound Route 5, in the area of the Loveville Post Office.ย  A routine MVA check revealed Douglasโ€™ driving privileges are suspended in Maryland.ย  Douglas was placed under arrest for driving on suspended license.ย  A search incident to the arrest revealed Douglas was in possession of a plastic baggie of Marijuana.ย  Douglas was taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County De
