LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — We are receiving reports of a minor accident this morning that has reportedly sent one person to the hospital.

At approximately 7:25 a.m. on December 11, first responders were called to the scene in the 21000 block of Great Mills Road, in the area of St. Mary’s Square, for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, crews discovered two vehicles which had been involved in a rear-end style collision.

At the time of the crash, EMS on the scene checked the male patient, who was operating the vehicle that was struck, after he noted he was suffering from back pains.
The operator of the white SUV also involved in the crash sustained no injuries following the crash, although the airbags in the vehicle were deployed.

All patients involved in the crash would sign refusals for medical care, however a reporter on the scene said that after speaking to the man who was driving the truck, he said he was going to be privately transported to a nearby hospital for additional treatment.
