Calvert County emergency units were dispatched at 6:45 on Tuesday morning for a report of a single- vehicle accident on Routes 2/4 south of Plum Point Road in Huntingtown. Upon arrival they found a car into a guard rail and a single person, the driver, needing treatment. Unconfirmed reports indicate the driver suffered some form of medical emergency and left the road and struck the guard rail.
After medical treatment on the scene by medic and emergency services personnel the driver was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
Traffic was closed southbound for about 45 minutes.
