Tuesday morning proved to be a busy one for theย Bay District Volunteers.

Around 10:15 a.m.,ย on June 9, a call was dispatched for report of a car into a house. Crews arrived on the scene to find aย Mitsubishi Lancerย into a house with significant structual damage. Investigation revealed anย elderly womanย had plowed into a home in her neigborhood along the 45600 block of Edge Mill Court in Great Mills. She mentioned her car was malfunctioning.

The woman was not seriously injured and signed a refusal of treatment.

Moments later, a call when out for a personal injury accident in the 21300 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park near the intersection of South Hampton.

Crews from Bay District arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle into a pole with wires down. For unknown reasons, the female driver lost control of her Ford Escape and struck the pole, knocking it out of the ground. A woman and a child were transported from the scene to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Power was knocked out in the area as a result of the crash.

Both accidents are still being investigated. More details to follow as they become available.
