Motorcycle Crashes At Maryland International Raceway Going 150MPH

UPDATE: As of 11:25 p.m., Trooper 7 has left the racetrack with the patient and is heading to Baltimore Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — We are receiving reports of a motorcycle accident that happened earlier at the Maryland International Raceway.

At approximately 10:48 p.m. on June 16, crews were dispatched to the 27000 block of Budds Creek Road to the racetrack for the reported accident. Our reports indicate that the bike was traveling at an estimated 150mph before crashing.

The racetrack’s EMT made a preliminary evaluation that determined the patient should be flown to a nearby trauma center for their injuries.

Trooper 7 from the Maryland State Police Aviation was dispatched from their hangar at St. Mary’s Airport to the landing zone at the raceway.
