EDGEWATER, Md. — A motorcyclist was flown to a trauma center Thursday night following a crash involving a passenger vehicle along Solomons Island Road.
The collision was reported around 8:55 p.m. on April 23, 2026, at the intersection of Solomons Island Road and Virginia Avenue.
Emergency crews arrived to find a crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. First responders evaluated the motorcyclist and requested a helicopter due to the severity of injuries.
The rider was transported by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to an area trauma center for treatment.
Occupants of the passenger vehicle were not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
