HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — A motorcyclist was injured Saturday evening after colliding with a deer in the Musgrove Estates area, according to Calvert County emergency officials.
Calvert County EMS Station 20, along with other emergency units, were dispatched at 5:40 p.m. on May 16, to the 5500 block of Stephen Reid Road for a reported auto accident initially described as involving a pedestrian. Updated information clarified the incident as a motorcycle was struck by a deer.
Dispatchers reported the rider was found in the roadway, with obvious injuries and road rash. The caller, who was on scene, stated the deer “jumped out in front of him.” No entrapment, fire, or hazardous conditions were reported, and no additional vehicles were involved.
Debris was noted in the roadway, and crews operated in the area while assessing and treating the patient. Information regarding transport or the rider’s condition was not immediately available.
Stephen Reid Road experienced temporary traffic impacts during the response but is now clear of debris and open to traffic.
