Dunkirk, MD – Calvert County fire officials reported one person was seriously injured late Saturday evening, Aug. 11 when the van the motorist was traveling in crashed and overturned on West Chesapeake Beach Road. The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department reported their units were dispatched to the crash at approximately 10:13 p.m. and “arrived to find a work van overturned with one trapped.” The crews extricated the injured motorist who was ground-transported to a regional trauma center. No other injuries were reported.
The name of the injured motorist has not been released. A police report on the crash is pending.
