November 20, 2017 crash on Lower Marlboro Road in Sunderland

Sunderland, MD – A single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon, Nov. 20 resulted in serious injuries to a motorist, Calvert County authorities reported. According to Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department (Company 5) spokesman Jonathan Riffe, the crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. in the 2900 block of Lower Marlboro Road. Riffe said when crews arrived the vehicle, a Jeep, was on its side and the driver was trapped. Responders freed the injured motorist, who was then flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to a regional trauma center.

The injured person’s name has not been released and a police report on the incident is pending.
