Drug Arrest โ€“ On Monday, May 2, 2011 at 5:30pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton responded to the St. Maryโ€™s State Park on Camp Cosoma Road in Leonardtown for reported drug activity. Upon arrival, contact was made with a citizen that advised 4 male subjects were believed to be smoking CDS in the area of the playground. A physical description was provided as well as information on the vehicle being operated by the individuals. TFC Pilkerton observed a vehicle exiting the parking lot that matched the description as well as occupants that matched the description provided. A traffic stop was initiated on Redbud Drive and Camp Cosoma Road. Upon making contact with the operator, Bryant Allen Michael Lawson, 19, of Leonardtown, TFC Pilkerton detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Lawson and the passengers in the vehicle were asked to exit the vehicle and a probable cause search was performed. The search revealed CDS โ€“ Marijuana under the center console. Following information provided by the occupants, Mr. Lawson was arrested for possession of CDS and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center. Bryant Lawson was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

Drug Arrest โ€“ On Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 6:21pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on a green Ford Explorer in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Golden Beach Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, Ross Allen Goldsmith, 21, of Mechanicsville, TFC Pilkerton detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. When additional units arrived on scene, TFC Pilkerton had Mr. Goldsmith and passenger, Amanda Nicole Williams, 19, of Mechanicsville exit the vehicle for a probable cause search to be performed. The search revealed CDS Paraphernalia in the passenger side door and in Ms. Williamsโ€™ personal bag. Both subjects were issued Criminal Citations and released on scene until a later court date.

Evans responded to the area of South Essex Drive and Shangri-La Drive in Lexington Park to assist on the traffic stop. Upon arrival, TFC Evans made contact with the operator, David Shawn Griffin, 33, of Callaway.
