OWINGS, Md. — My Mustard Seed, a local urban farm in Calvert County, is hosting a Flower & Lavender Spring Festival and is looking for vendors to join in the fun.

Billed as a day of community, crafts and culture, My Mustard Seed Refuge is hosting the event at its farm at 1414 Georgianna Ln., Owings, on Sunday, June 21, from 12-4 p.m., in conjunction with a Father’s Day celebration. This event is free to the public.

As an urban farm dedicated to agricultural connections, My Mustard Seed has curated an expansive market featuring local farm and producer vendors, bakers, spirit vendors, artisan crafters and a variety of popular food trucks.

“We wanted to create a space where the community could gather and enjoy the beauty of My Mustard Seed Refuge without any barriers,” says Tresor Thomas, founder and CEO at My Mustard Seed, in a press release to The BayNet. “By keeping the event free and highlighting our local farmers, bakers and producers, we’re ensuring that every family in Southern Maryland can enjoy a day of outdoor fun while supporting the people who grow and make things right here in our backyard. It’s the perfect way to say ‘Thank You’ to the legends in our lives.”

Thomas also described agriculture as “dear to her heart” in an interview with The BayNet and said she’s excited for more opportunities to teach others in the community and share her knowledge.

The festival will feature plenty of interactive activities, including:

  • Live Music: Performances to set the perfect atmosphere for a Father’s Day outing.
  • Family Fun: A Kids Play Area featuring a moon bounce, professional face painting and a petting zoo.
  • Hands-on Learning: Seed planting stations for children and interactive artisan activities.
  • Live Demonstrations: Educational food demonstrations featuring local ingredients and artisan techniques.
  • Community Connection: Informational booths for local groups and classic lawn games, including cornhole and giant Jenga.

My Mustard Seed is currently seeking vendors and local business partners to join this celebration. Sponsorship opportunities are available at the $100, $250 and $500 levels, offering local businesses “high visibility and a chance to directly support community programming in Calvert County.”

Additionally, My Mustard Seed is looking for experts to lead live food demonstrations, especially people who are excited about farm-to-table cooking or experts in artisan techniques.
