NORTH BEACH, Md. — The North Beach Nature Center is one of the gems of North Beach, located in Wetlands Overlook Park. The center has just announced a slew of exciting events through 2026 through the town of North Beach — and both residents and visitors can look forward to fun, nature-focused activities this spring.

The Nature Center invites visitors of all ages to come in, learn about local wildlife, and connect with the natural world. Events give people the opportunity to learn specialized information and connect with others who share similar interests.

Here’s what you can look forward to at the North Beach Nature Center over the next few months:

Animal Valentines: Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10–11 a.m. This event is for kids ages 5-10. Kids will get to craft a Valentine’s card, play animal bingo, learn about animal artifacts, and enjoy a storytime.

Hootin’ Night Hike: Feb. 21 from 6:45–7:45 p.m. All ages are welcome to this naturalist-led night hike. Hikers will explore the woods after dark in search of owls in a fun and memorable evening for nature lovers of all ages.

Sunny Crafts: March 21 from 10–11 a.m. Sunny Crafts celebrates the first days of spring with creative fun. This is a hands-on, family-friendly activity hour filled with sunshine-inspired projects. Participants will also do a scavenger hunt. Registration is required for this event.

Hop Into Spring: March 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This fun-filled spring celebration includes pictures with the Easter Bunny, plus the opportunity to meet real bunnies and learn about rabbit husbandry. The Easter egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. sharp.

Eggsplorers: April 11 from 10–11 a.m. This activity is all about eggs and the animals that lay them. Kids ages 5-10 will enjoy storytime and “egg-tastic” crafts.

Busy Bees: April 17 from 10–11 a.m. This event is perfect for curious kids who love stories, hands-on fun, and nature. Ages pre-K to fifth grade.

The North Beach Nature Center is located at 9404 Dayton Ave., North Beach. The center is open Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours are subject to change.
