Sheriff Rex W. Coffey is pleased to announce members of his executive command staff, who will help him lead the Charles County Sheriffโs Office.ย ย ย
Joseph C. Montminy, Jr. and Joseph โBuddyโ Gibson were selected to serve as majors. Major Montminy was promoted from captain and has served the Charles County Sheriffโs Office for more than 26 years. He serves as the major of operations. Major Gibson was a Charles County Sheriffโs officer from 1990 to 2001 and achieved the rank of corporal. He serves as the major of administration.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Capt. Robert L. Cleaveland, a 21-year veteran of the Sheriffโs Office, was selected to command the Executive Services Division. He was previously a lieutenant and served as commander of the Indian Head District Station.ย ย
ย Capt. Michael S. Klotz will command the Special Services Division. He was previously a lieutenant in command of the Judicial Services Section and has served the agency for nearly 19 years.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Capt. Daniel L. Gimler was chosen to lead the Patrol Operations Division. He has worked for the Sheriffโs Office for nearly 17 years and was previously a lieutenant and commander of the Narcotics Enforcement Section.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
The Special Operations Division will be commanded by Capt. Michael F. McGuigan, who previously served as a lieutenant and commander of the Waldorf District Station. He is a nearly 17-year veteran of the Agency.
Capt. David A. Saunders, who as a lieutenant served as the commander of the Investigations Section of the Criminal Investigations Division, will now serve as commander of the Information Services Division. He has served the Agency for nearly 17 years.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Capt. Troy D. Berry was selected to command the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). He is a 14-year veteran of the Agency and previously served as a lieutenant and commander of the Internal Affairs Unit.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Capt. Pamela W. Dottellis will serve as director of the Corrections Division, which oversees the operation of the Charles County Detention Center. Capt. Dottellis has served the Agency in the Corrections Division for nearly 25 years. This division was previously commanded by a sworn officer. Lt. Susan L. Rice, a 25-year veteran of the Corrections Division, was promoted to captain and will command the Support Services Division.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
Jack Hurd joined the Agency in December as the Sheriffโs director of the Administrative Services Division. He is a civilian employee.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
