GREAT MILLS, Md. — Six dedicated pickleball courts are now open at Chancellors Run Regional Park, giving players a permanent space for one of St. Mary’s County’s fastest-growing recreational sports.

Crews are completing minor items, with center divider netting and a windscreen expected within the coming days, according to county officials. The additions are intended to improve safety, visibility and playability in breezy conditions.

Unlike temporary overlays on tennis courts, the new courts are dedicated to pickleball, allowing multiple games to run simultaneously without shared lines. Players are encouraged to bring their own paddles and balls and to follow posted rules and basic etiquette.

Park information, including directions and amenities, is available at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/docs/chancellorsrunpark.pdf. A countywide map of parks at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/docs/RPcountymap.pdf.
