PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Chesapeake Beach woman is facing felony assault charges after Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies alleged she went uninvited to another woman’s home in Owings, accused her of having an affair with her husband, physically attacked her and damaged her property during the confrontation, according to court documents.
Latoya Geneva Ryan, 38, of Chesapeake Beach, was charged in the District Court for Calvert County with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property valued at less than $1,000.
According to the application for statement of charges, deputies were dispatched on June 26, 2026, to CalvertHealth Medical Center after receiving a report of an assault. Investigators met with the complainant, who reported that Ryan had arrived uninvited at her residence in Owings the previous evening.
According to charging documents, Ryan allegedly accused the woman of sleeping with her husband, an allegation the complainant denied. The encounter then escalated into a physical confrontation.
Investigators allege Ryan got into the complainant’s face before striking her multiple times. The complainant told deputies the assault was captured by a residential surveillance camera. The footage allegedly showed Ryan approaching the residence after exiting her vehicle. According to the charging documents, Ryan allegedly destroyed a flowerpot in the complainant’s driveway before tackling the complainant to the ground.
Deputies further alleged the surveillance video showed Ryan punching the complainant multiple times while she was on the ground. At one point, Ryan allegedly wrapped both arms around the complainant’s neck, choked her and pulled her hair during the altercation.
The complainant later sought treatment at CalvertHealth Medical Center. According to the charging documents, medical personnel advised deputies the injuries were consistent with a possible concussion. Deputies documented numerous injuries, including bruises and scrapes to both knees, the left arm and elbow, the left shoulder, the left side of the chest, the left hand and the back, as well as scrapes to the neck. The deputy also reported feeling a raised bump on the back right side of the complainant’s head. Photographs of the injuries were taken as part of the investigation.
Court records show an arrest warrant was issued on June 29. The warrant was served on July 12, 2026, and Ryan was later released after posting a $7,500 unsecured personal bond.

Hey Latoya! I get that you’d be upset if you thought that your husband was unfaithful to your marriage, but shouldn’t it be your husband that you clobber, not the alleged mistress? Perhaps the alleged mistress didn’t know that her paramour has a wife?
How many deputies did it take and why did it take two weeks to locate her?
BTW, I’m asking, not because of the charges on the young lady, but more of how the Calvert Sheriff handled the warrant and arrest. I would just like to know how much force and how many sheriffs they chose to use while serving her. Hopefully they did a better job than with my family member. I hope the prosecutors’ office looks at both sides of Ms. Ryan’s issue and she gets fair treatment versus throwing the book at her, if her story is true.
