New Self-Serve Sports Equipment Kiosks Open At Two St. Mary’s County Parks

ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. — Visitors to two St. Mary’s County parks can now rent sports equipment on demand through new self-service kiosks powered by Rent.Fun.

The kiosks are available at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park and Lexington Manor Passive Park, giving residents and visitors access to equipment even if they do not own their own gear.

At Chancellor’s Run Regional Park, users can rent equipment for pickleball and bocce ball. The kiosk is located at 21905 Chancellor’s Run Road in Great Mills.

At Lexington Manor Passive Park, visitors can rent disc golf equipment at 21675 South Coral Drive in Lexington Park.

The rentals are designed to make it easier for beginners and casual players to try the activities without having to purchase equipment first.

How The Rentals Work

Users download the Rent. Fun app, select a rental and use the app to unlock the equipment kiosk.

Instructions and a download link are posted directly on the kiosk signage.

Rental equipment includes:

Disc golf: Three discs — a driver, mid-range disc and putter — along with one carry bag
Bocce ball: Six balls and one pallino
Pickleball: Two paddles and six pickleballs

The equipment costs $5 per hour to rent.

The kiosks are available daily from sunrise to sunset.

Users are expected to return the equipment to the kiosk at the end of the rental period.

St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks described the kiosks as another way to make recreational activities more accessible, particularly for people who may want to try a sport before investing in their own equipment.
