At 1:16 a.m. Aug. 5, TFC Linger stopped a vehicle on Route 5 at Mt. Wolf Road, in Charlotte Hall, for failing to reduce high beams.
A check through MVA indicted the driver, Ernest Allen Harris, 46, of Suitland, had a suspended license. Harris was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended.
During a search of the vehicle a plastic straw and a folded dollar bill, both containing cocaine, were found in the rear passenger seat area.
The rear passenger, Johnnie Lee Chapman, 57, of Landover, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Both were taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review.
