Southern Marylandโ€™s baby boomers werenโ€™t about to waste a splendid summer day. On Sunday, Aug. 25 many of them came to Calvert County, packed the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spaโ€™s Boardwalk Cafรฉ, and danced and sang along to the 1960s, early 1970s sounds of the NoWhere Men. The current band is a resurrection of one of the most in-demand acts in the immediate Washington Metropolitan area back when the music they played was up-to-date and hot with the teenage generation.

โ€œWeโ€™re in a time warp,โ€ declared lead singer John Roundtree, as the current NoWhere Men rendered a little Motownโ€”including a medley of Four Tops hitsโ€”Memphis Soul, Carolina Beach Music and plenty of blue-eyed soul.

The resort and spaโ€™s management has been booking live entertainment all summer. The headliners have included several tribute artists.

Alas, the days of summer and live outdoor summer entertainment are dwindling away. On Wednesday, Aug. 28 The Embers will perform from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
