At 12:29 a.m. Nov. 19, Cpl. W. Wathen of the Charles County Sheriffโs Office observed a vehicle stopped in a westbound traffic lane on Pomfret Road in Indian Head, facing east in the lane.
The officer watched the driver then back the vehicle into a ditch.
Cpl. Wathen approached the driver, Bert Marvin Carroll, Jr., 21, of Nanjemoy, who was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.
He was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, driving without a license and unregistered motor vehicle. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
