On Feb. 15, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Sgt. C Grumbles stopped a vehicle operated by Jerome Anthony Chase, 46 of Mechanicsville, for numerous violations. The location of the traffic stop was Maryland Route 4 and FDR Blvd in California.
Chase became upset when Sgt. Grumbles informed him she would was citing him for the violations. As Sgt. Grumbles was standing beside Chase’s vehicle removing his copies of the citations to give to him, Chase abruptly put his vehicle in drive and began to pull away. Sgt. Grumbles had to jump back away from Chase’s vehicle to avoid having her foot run over by the tire of Chase’s vehicle.
Chase was ordered to stop which he complied. Jerome Chase was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
