LOVEVILLE, Md. – On April 22, 2024, at approximately 5:35 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Sunnyside Road in the area of Pin Cushion Road.
Crews arrived to find two vehicles involved in a collision with a pole and wires down in the roadway. Firefighters began extinguishing a brush fire caused by the downed wires. SMECO was requested to the scene for repairs.
EMS evaluated a male patient approximately 50 years old on the scene and requested a MEDEVAC due to injuries. Firefighters established a landing zone in a field nearby for Maryland State Police, Trooper 2.
Once Trooper 2 arrived, the patient was airlifted to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment. One care refusal was signed on the scene.
