Lexington Park, MD – On March 29 at about 6:48 a.m. a fire was reported on Windsor Drive in Lexington Park.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal the fire was discovered by an occupant, Bay District and Second District Volunteer Fire Departments and Patuxent River Naval Air Station responded to the fire.
It took 24 firefighters about five minutes to control the fire. The fire is reported to have originated in the bedroom and the cause is said to be accidental.
One occupant was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Couny Hospital for smoke inhalation.
Damage is estimated at $80,000 and the seven occupants, including four children, have been displaced and are being assisted by family members.
