At 12:46 a.m. Dec. 4, TFC J. Linger of the Leonardtown barrack observed a vehicle traveling southbound Route 5 north of Route 6, Mechanicsville, with a non-working tail light. The vehicle also appeared to be traveling above the posted 40 mph speed limit.
The officer conducted a pace and found the vehicleโs speed to be 55 mph.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as James Todd Rasor, 36, of Mechanicsville. Rasor was subsequently arrested for DUI.
A search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, revealed a bag containing marijuana and a wooden โdugoutโ with marijuana residue, under the driverโs side floor mat.
Rasor was taken to the St. Maryโs County Detention Center, charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia, processed and held pending a bail review.
