At 12:46 a.m. Dec. 4, TFC J. Linger of the Leonardtown barrack observed a vehicle traveling southbound Route 5 north of Route 6, Mechanicsville, with a non-working tail light. The vehicle also appeared to be traveling above the posted 40 mph speed limit.

The officer conducted a pace and found the vehicleโ€™s speed to be 55 mph.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as James Todd Rasor, 36, of Mechanicsville. Rasor was subsequently arrested for DUI.

A search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, revealed a bag containing marijuana and a wooden โ€œdugoutโ€ with marijuana residue, under the driverโ€™s side floor mat.

Rasor was taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center, charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia, processed and held pending a bail review.
