The Seahorses By The Bay Grant Committeeย is pleased to present the fifth and final SBTB scholarship to Natalie Romano of Lusby.ย A recent graduate of Patuxent High School, Natalie will be attending Towson University as she pursues a B.A. in graphic design.ย
Romanoย has been involved in many extracurricular programs, including serving as the editor for the schoolโs award-winning publication, Paw Prints magazine.ย Romano’s creative approach to her studies will be an asset as she begins her college education this fall.ย Her strong leadership skills and creative mindย will undoubtedly bring her success in her future career.
The SBTB funds were raised through the auction of 25 Seahorses By The Bay fiberglass statues that were decorated by the schools and displayed around the county in 2004.ย Participating schools received $1000 for their efforts and a grant and scholarship program was enacted with the remaining funds to further benefit the arts in Calvert County schools.ย ย The SBTB committee reviewed grant proposals quarterly and scholarship applications in May each year.ย This was the final scholarship to be given by SBTB.
