
LA PLATA, Md. — A pedestrian was transported to a trauma center Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Crain Highway in La Plata.
Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. July 28, 2026, to southbound Crain Highway near Talbot Street for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Police arrived on scene to find a person lying in the roadway following what was described as a rear-end collision.
Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and evaluated the patient before transporting them by ambulance to MedStar Washington Hospital Center with serious but not immediately life-threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the collision.
