On Sept. 17, at 7:09 a.m., James Henry Elam III, 26 of Lexington Park, was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for possession of percocet, a prescription medication not prescribed to him, driving on a suspended license and possession of a deadly weapon.
Elam was operating a silver Dodge on north bound Route 235 in California when he failed to stop for a red traffic light at Route 235 and Mervell Dean Road.
Cpl. Linger initiated a traffic stop at Route 235 and Airport View Drive in Hollywood, contact was made with Elam. A routine MVA check revealed Elam’s driving privileges are suspended and Elam was taken into custody and arrested for driving on a suspended license.
A search incident to the arrest revealed Elam was in possession of percocet pills not prescribed to him and brass knuckles.
Elam was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review
