Ridge, MD – On Sunday, March 3 at approximately 7:28 a.m., an initial call was dispatched to a residence on Bayne Road in Ridge for a possible burglary and house reported to be filled with smoke. While police were enroute, responders from numerus fire departments were advised to stage at nearby Ridge market until the scene was determined to be safe. Moments later police apprehended the suspect who allegedly was squatting at the unoccupied residence and keeping warm with what appeared to be a small campfire inside the dwelling.
Firefighters from Ridge contained and extinguisher the fire within minutes. Charges against the suspect and a police report on the incident are pending.
