Eleven people were busted in a cocaine sting in Great Mills at 5 a.m. Nov. 23. It was the culmination of a two-month investigation that ended with St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigtion Narcotics Unit executing an early morning search warrant.
Police entered 21981 Barkentine Court, Great Mills, and recovered more than 22 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2200.00, smoking paraphernalia, and $107.
Eleven persons were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of CDS smoking paraphernalia, including the renter of the residence, Robert Newton, 43.
The others arrested were Catherine Davis, 44, of Great Mills, Louis Parker, 35, of Great Mills, Jeffrey Hephner, 25, of Leonardtown, Jacqueline Lyon, 40, of Berlin PA, Joseph Lee, 35, of Great Mills, Dante Thomas, 21, of Lexington Park, Darlene McDowney, 26, of Lexington Park, Joseph Taylor, 26, of Lexington Park, Eric Payne, 49, of Lexington Park, and Charles Chandler, 30, of Cambridge OH.
Two of the persons arrested were also served with open criminal warrants. Further felony charges are pending.
