Steny Hoyer, John Bohanan, Roy Dyson, Thomas Mattingly, and Dan Raley were among the politicians who took time out of a busy September 11 for a boat tour of storm damage caused by Ernesto.
The group cruised through the newly dredged St. Jerome’s Neck Creek, and the coast of Scotland, where missing roofs, toppled trees and other damage were still apparent over a week after the storm.
Steny recommended a jetty for the creek, and viewed photographs from the flooding. Nell Hampton, a Scotland resident, was aboard. The Hamptons were obliged to evacuate their waterfront home, during Ernesto, as the water swallowed their entire yard.
