Maryland State Fire Marshall’s are investigating a case of arson in Charles County.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2500 block of Enterprise Way in Waldorf on Dec. 26 around 9:51 a.m., after a neighbor reported an open door at the vacant townhome.
Upon entering the townhouse, Sheriff’s Deputies discovered that the third floor bedroom carpet was burned. The State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to the scene and determined the fire was the result of arson.
An estimated $2,000 in damage was done. Fire alarms were present in the home and did activate.
